"I don't get as many search results as with Kazaa/K-Lite/K++! Why?" giFT-FT does exactly the same as the aforementioned programs do when searching. The difference is this: gift-fasttrack attempts to filter out as many known-bad results as it can. If you're firewalled, it'll automatically remove results from other firewalled users, for example. Users known to be sharing fake files are also filtered. "More results" is not always a good thing; gift-fasttrack tries to ensure the results it returns are *useful*. "I'm behind a firewall/NAT; what ports do I need to open/forward?" The default is 1214 (TCP and UDP), but you can change it using the "port" option in FastTrack.conf. "I don't see any uploads!" You need to specifically enable fasttrack uploads in FastTrack.conf. Uploads are disabled by default because fasttrack doesn't offer the same amount of file verification that other giFT-supported networks (OpenFT, Gnutella) do, and thus file corruption can spread very quickly. "Can giFT-FastTrack become a supernode?" No. Nor is such a feature planned. "Can I jump supernodes? Can I connect to several supernodes?" No, and no. Multiple supernodes might conceivably be supported at some point.
